The demolition of a 3 storey office block and construction of a three / four storey structure over a basement carpark.
The four storey section houses 28 apartments with the three storey section being split into 3 town houses.
Construction utilised a cut timber roof supported on steelwork with masonry walls supporting hollowcore floor planks. The ground floor slab is a concrete transfer structure supported on concrete walls and columns. The perimeter of the slab is supported in a contiguous piled wall which was then lined with water proof concrete, the basement slab being a suspended concretye slab, again using water proof concrete to provide a water tight box to house the basement parking.
The whole structure is supported on piled foundations. Due to the proximity of the River Thames and possible flood levels, the foundations had to be designed against buoyancy in the temporary case during construction.
To match an adjoining property slim cantilever balconies where provided on the rear elevation with feature balustrade and ornate columns.
