Commercial and residential development on a disused plot near Marlow High street. The structure was two, three and four storeys with part of the ground floor being utilised for retail. A basement covered the whole footprint to provide parking, this is accessed via a car lift.
The basement was formed using a contiguous piled wall which was then lined with waterproof concrete, the basement slab being a suspended concrete slab, again using waterproof concrete to provide a watertight box.
A concrete slab at the ground floor was supported on concrete columns and walls, which acted as a transfer slab with masonry walls supporting precast floors and a truss roof over.
Due to partial collapse requirements within the retail unit, the first floor was also designed as a concrete transfer slab to minimise structural supports at ground.
